The Daily Grind
On a normal day the average student gets 7.2 hours of sleep, spends about an hour getting to/from university, does 3.6 hours of lectures, 3.4 hours of private study, spends up to an hour eating, does an hour in the gym/sports team, 4 hours in paid work and 5.3 hours of socialising mostly within the university or college campus.
Internet / Email / Online chatting and Social Networking have become major features in modern student spare time and are now even more popular than meeting friends and family, showing that face-to-face interaction is becoming less important to the social network generation.
Undergraduates have more time for going to the pub/bar/clubbing and participating in clubs/societies than postgraduates who spend more time reading and in study, but like to get out and socialise where possible.
Over four-fifths of students use public transport.
