The illuminating York festival is now in its 11th years and was one of the UK's first lighting festivals. Engaging and exciting, this after-dark event sees some of York's best known buildings lit up in strange and interesting ways. The festival brings over 54,000 people into York over 4 nights in October. Illuminating York is a high quality event, programmed by curators who bring in international artists. Venues this year include the iconic York Minster, National Railway Museum and York St John University.
Event sponsorship will allow brands to become associated with a high quality, established Festival. As part of one of York's major annual events, the festival received local, regional and national media coverage. Partner opportunities include naming right, branding on digital and printed media, at event branding opportunities plus a speaking opportunity at a VIP launch event to over 100 key York stakeholders. Experiential and sampling opportunities are also available at the event.
The Festival is always exciting for family audiences and draws in large crowds. The event timing, during October half term work particularly well for this. The event also spans 'Halloween' weekend meaning York is very popular with students and revellers out after dark and this is a great way to attract their attention.
