The Student Lock-In is an out-of-hours student shopping event held at numerous high-profile shopping centres across the UK. At each event, students enjoy one-night only discounts, offers & freebies within a unique, festival-like atmosphere. Attended by over 175,000 students nationwide last year, the Student Lock-In has established itself as the UK's biggest student event. The opportunity is currently available for brands and businesses to promote at these events in front of these large student crowds via high footfall promo spaces, entry sampling and roaming promotion.

What is the Marketing Objective?

University is a time of considerable personal development for students, where they often establish strong brand connections that can last a lifetime. The Student Lock-In events give brands the opportunity to strengthen links between themselves and the student market, up close and face-to-face. Whether you're objective is to raise awareness, collect data or to simply establish a young, contemporary brand attitude, our events provide the perfect platform for your company to engage with the student demographic in a fun and memorable way in a media that relates to them.

How does it work?

Each brand is allocated a 3m x 3m space within a shopping centre of their choice, where they are permitted to promote for the duration of the Student Lock-In event. Alternatively, roaming promotion and entry sampling is also available. While brands are free to promote as they see fit, the most interactive, unique and generous promotions are always the most popular with students. As such, we are more than happy to provide ideas to help you engage the student market if needed; e.g. a holiday company may wish to provide a surf simulator with a chance to win a holiday, etc.

Who's used it in the past?

We have previously worked with a number of nationally recognised brands; including Red Bull, Relentless, Desperados, Vitamin Water, Vodka Revolution, O2 Academy, Nandos, Pizza Hut, Pot Noodle, Capital FM, 2K Games and Virgin Media. We have also collaborated with several festivals and regularly promote charitable organisations as part of each tour. Additionally, we have also had a variety of celebrities at our events; including England rugby star Danny Cipriani, Marvin of JLS and several stars of reality TV, such as Jamie Laing (Made in Chelsea) and Adam Isaacs (The Voice).
