Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Ownership of an established competition that traditionally runs across all of Bauer's flagship 8 Big City stations in the North (also known as Secret Celebs on Radio City in Liverpool) and Magic 105.4 in London. Due to its previous success, Mystery Voices will additionally run across 10 of our newly acquired stations in cities across Scotland and Ireland. The last Mystery Voices to run in London generated 4 million calls and 4.3 million website hits.

What is the Marketing Objective?

Massive frequency of message spread in major cities across the UK.

How does it work?

The voices of three celebrities are edited together to create the name of the radio station. Listeners must call in and guess the identity of three celebrities to win thousands of pounds. The voices are heard every hour and if they are not guessed the prize increases by £100 (tbc). With the last Mystery Voices that ran on Magic 105.4 - the prize won was over £81,000! Research done for the last Big City Mystery Voices suggested that over half of the adults in Big City TSAs loved the competition so much that they thought it should run 4 times a year or more.

Who's used it in the past?

The only station to have a previous sponsor for Mystery Voices is Key 103 in Manchester with - around 1 million calls were generated for this competition and £50,000 given to the winner. All other stations are free from previous brand associations.
