CASE STUDY: International Poker Tournament at Wembley Stadium

Provided by Bigger
We created the first ever poker tournament to be played at Wembley Stadium

What was the Challenge / Background of the Campaign?

Bigger, an event management, entertainment and experiential agency, were asked to create Europe's biggest poker tournament at an iconic stadium to kick off the International Stadium Poker Tour.

What was the Campaign Objective?

To create a unique poker experience bringing together both professional and amateur poker players allowing each a chance to chance to win the €1,000,000 prize.

What was the Solution?

To create a poker village housing 200 tables and over 2,000 poker players in a tournament to be played over six days on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium. Players had to first qualify by playing against each other online. The Poker village was constructed to allow the event to be carried out in all weathers whilst still giving a sense of playing a tournament at Wembley Stadium, the solution was to erect a number of inflatable shelters to house the poker games and to protect them from the elements.

What were the Results?

The result was a ground breaking poker tournament, the first to be played at a stadium such as Wembley. It allowed amateur players to take part and play against the greats in a chance to win the grand prize.
