Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

The legendary, award-winning event, crowned "Top Festival of 2007" by Billboard magazine Download returns for its eighth year in 2010. With as yet unannounced, heavy rock superstars lined up to headline the Donington Park event over the weekend (exact dates TBC) - its sure to be rocking. Past headliners include Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden and KISS, so expect some heavy hitters. With 3 stages and around 100 bands performing, Download Festival will be the ONLY festival to see some of the best heavy rock on the planet in 2010.

What is the Marketing Objective?

This is a very complex and growing youth music market and Download has credentials to authentically connect a brand with it. From our UK festival research we found: - 78.1% said their music preference was Rock - 66% said their preferred vacation of choice was a Music Festival over a beach or snow holiday, city break or staying at home.... - 51% buy their tickets through official festival micro sites and get their main source of info from here as well - Only 11% said they were against sponsorship of festivals - 72% said it was a necessary aspect of festivals
