Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

In a mission to prove that plastic should never become waste, we have built a unique nationwide community project to highlight that the power of audience is integral to the future of the planet and our fight against plastic waste. We are going to build the world's first performance sailing boat from collected mixed plastic waste and to sail it around the UK and across the Atlantic, with a goal to break at least 2 Guinness World Records.

What is the Marketing Objective?

Brand and campaign awareness is a key objective of our project. However, the narrative and association with our project represents something much wider than any single campaign. It is about leadership, innovation, engaging communities and demonstrating the power of action in creating change for the future.

How does it work?

The plastic will be collected over 50 locations with a UK nationwide community cleanup project collecting over 6 tonnes of mixed plastic waste for the boat build. Our Guinness World Record attempts will celebrate the UK as a nation in the fight against plastic waste and the world records themselves will be totally attributed to "our" communities action.

Who's used it in the past?

This is an original idea but Orca Sound Project has previously worked with Absolut Vodka, ASOS, Nike, Formula-E, Glastonbury Music Festival and others. This opportunity carries headline partner status as well as multiple sub categories allowing for leaders in various sectors to get involved.
