Sponsorship of new festival Bloom! in York

2018 is the 250th anniversary of the 'Ancient Society of York Florists', the oldest horticultural society in the world.

Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

A new festival for York has been created called "Bloom!" & it will be a 4 day celebration of all things horticultural. It will take place from the 5th-8th July 2018 & it will permeate across the whole city and surrounding areas. It is NOT a simple flower show. The festival will be fun, quirky & imaginative. It will appeal to all ages & will consist of artistic floral displays, the opening up of secret gardens, workshops, seminars, a flower & plant market, a floral window display competition, lawned streets, street food, a flower boat, children's activities & much, more.

What is the Marketing Objective?

The festival will rely upon the content contribution from a range of willing, enthusiastic partners, all with an interest in promoting and highlighting York's horticultural heritage.

How does it work?

The festival will be promoted locally, regionally & nationally & will use all techniques to maximise the audience - a website, social media, PR & promotion through a variety of channels. Links with the Harrogate Flower Show will be exploited & huge benefit will be gained by database marketing through all the partners in the festival. Local media partners will include BBC Radio York, York Mix & the York Press. The Yorkshire Post will also be involved. National PR coverage will be a key feature of the promotional plan.

Who's used it in the past?

This will be a brand new festival for York.
