Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Sponsorship of a combination of national school & club cricket competitions, providing a clear player pathway through the grassroots and recreational game. Properties include the U13 National Club Championship (1803 clubs, 25k players); U15 National Schools Cup (970 schools, 13k players); U13, U14, U15, U17 County Cups (39 counties + Scotland, 600 most talented players in each age group); National Club Championship - premier ECB recreational club competition for adults (top 256 clubs).

What is the Marketing Objective?

Enormous reach on a national scale provides excellent brand exposure at local level. Access to cricket clubs and state & independent schools. Player pathway allows access to the full age range (13-18+). Partner representatives encouraged to attend Finals Days and showcase events. Creation of bespoke marks for marketing collateral, including use of ECB mark. Presence on ECB Twelfth Man Extra - e-newsletter to 230k+ subscribers. Ideally the brand will help to raise the profile of grassroots and recreational cricket.

How does it work?

Competitions are organised by County Cricket Boards, with winners proceeding to Regional Finals then to National Finals, with regular updates in regional/local press. Key ECB personnel also attend Finals, with potential for England Player appearances as well. Current England players such as Flintoff, Cook, Bell & Broad have progressed through these competitions.
