Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

We at Grassroot Media currently operate in football & cricket. What we do is quite simple; we have built a network of A3 sized poster panels inside amateur football & cricket clubs across the UK, but now we want to explore other sports that fit the way we do business. If you have a brand that wants to associate itself with rugby, or already is involved with the sport at elite level but wants to activate this at the grassroots then we can build you a bespoke network in the areas you want to get your brand in front of players immediately before, during and after their game.

What is the Marketing Objective?

Brands that have used our football & cricket network have used them for brand awareness, direct response, as part of a launch campaign to drive sales and to refer our audiences to their online/mobile shops. The idea is quite simple: we give you a chance to get your message in front a terrifically targeted audience while they are doing something they love (playing rugby) in a way where there are not any other commercial/marketing messages (in their changing rooms). Any advertiser at launch would have exclusive use of us, our network and our clubs for a whole season.

How does it work?

We place panels in clubs that sign up to our network, we do not ever charge any kind of fees for our panels and everything we do is free for the clubs. We then work out our audience numbers using the fixture data clubs provide (which is all in the public domain). We then negotiate deals with advertisers for this space and pay the members clubs the money after a commission is taken for Grassroot Media. The clubs get funding they wouldn't have got before for no investment or work, the brands get a very targeted audience & numbers they can believe.
