CASE STUDY: Penguin work with The Telegraph and 20th Century Fox

Provided by Penguin Random House
Front page spot with National Newspaper to launch the release of Lincoln

What was the Challenge / Background of the Campaign?

Penguin Books is an iconic, globally recognisable and respected brand. Defined by our diversity and ambition, we continue to set the pace across the board. We were asked by 20th Century Fox to help them to raise awareness of their upcoming release Lincoln.

What was the Campaign Objective?

The objective of the campaign was to drive cinema and press sales as well as build excitement surrounding the launch of the Lincoln fim.

What was the Solution?

We worked with the Telegraph and 20th Century Fox to offer readers the chance to pick up a free copy of Team of Rivals, the book that the award winning film Lincoln is based on. We branded the books and the cover was redesigned to tie in with the film artwork. The free book was available to collect from Waitrose, Eason, Booths and a selection of independent retailers including a mail away option for those who could not get to stores.

What were the Results?

The promotion received great in paper and online presence both through Telegraph.co.uk and their e-newsletters, with a prepromote running in the week prior also.

What were the Key Learnings of this Campaign?

We know from the response that this promotion proved incredibly popular with Telegraph readers and is a successful mechanic for all parties. We can call on our celebrated authors and brands to assist in creating the perfect gift, promotion, campaign, limited edition or whatever your brief demands.
