Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

In the UK, Metro distributes 1.3 million copies per day and has over 2 million readers. Metro is distributed on public transport networks (trains, trams, buses, underground) and in high-traffic commuter zones. Metro is designed to be read in about 20 minutes and contains bite-sized national and international news wrapped around local information - entertainment previews, listings, weather and travel. Competitions are a great way of interacting with our audience. On average a week long competiton generates 28,000 entries!

How does it work?

Metro has no cover price, so our competitions don't get tied up with the 'no-purchase-necessary' mechanics. According to our Urban Life research panel, 55% of Urbanites read the competition page "almost always" - plus our competitions can easily be found in the same spot in the paper. We take care of everything from the artwork for your competition to capturing the entries to calling the winners. We offer 4 different packages - your competition can run all week or one-day only, either on a features page or as a small quarter page.
