Sky's interactive music sampler allows viewers to press the red button and enter into an application where they can listen to some of the latest music tracks from the comfort of their sofa. They also have the opportunity to buy the albums they've just listened to. It's an easy and convenient way of keeping up to date with the latest music releases and buying music without having to leave home. Viewers can revisit the application at any time simply by going to Sky Active's A - Z menu where all of Sky's interactive services are listed 24/7.

How does it work?

This is your chance to advertise on the music sampler channel. Viewers use a carousel system to select tracks or album samples pre or post release. This content may be churned weekly or monthly offering the advertiser the opportunity to buy a single application over a longer period of time at a discounted rate. Dedicated Advertiser Locations (DALs) can be used to show trailers without the high costs of extended spot length advertising.

Who's used it in the past?

80% of the top 50 ad spenders in the UK have used interactive advertising in some form. Film companies such as Warners, Fox, UIP and BVI have used Dedicated Advertiser Locations (DALs) in order to show trailers without the high costs of an extended spot length. The music sampler works in much the same way in that viewers can listen to much longer extracts of tracks than a traditional 30 second spot can offer.
