Broadcast sponsorship of Sky Sports coverage of British Basketball League in 2011. Targeting a predominantly male audience.

Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Sky Sports are proud to announce it's coverage of the British Basketball League in 2011 and the availablilty of its sought after sponsorship position. The league is the pre-eminent men's professional basketball league in the U.K. and runs two knockout competitions alongside the league championship; the BBL Cup and the BBL Trophy, as well as the pre-season face-off, the Cup Winners' Cup. The league currently consists of 13 teams with representation from both England and Scotland.

What is the Marketing Objective?

An excellent opportunity to build brand awareness through targeting an audience of sports enthusiasts.

How does it work?

Within the opening & closing credits the sponsor will be featured both visually and verbally in a title sequence lasting up to 15". There are 2 x 15" opening/closing credits per BBL game (both Live & Repeat/Highlights). Break Bumpers will feature the sponsor visually and verbally on a full frame bumper for 5" entering and leaving the commercial break. There are 2 x 5" break bumpers per centre break and approximately 10 x 5" credits per full game. On-Air Promotions: The sponsor will be featured visually, and where possible verbally, on all relevant promotional trailers.

Who's used it in the past?

This is a brand new opportunity, however other sponsors of Sky Sports coverage have included Gillette, Ford, Bet 365 and Sure for Men.

Features / Benefits

Basketball on Sky Sports Network will broadcast across Sky channels 1, 2, 3, 4, HD1, HD2, HD3 & HD4. Live and repeated programmes shall be broadcast throughout 2011. 25 x 2 hour programmes shall be shown, predominantly on Tuesdays with the Play-Off final to be broadcast on April 30th 2011.
