The format is highly effective for branding and direct response. UtargetTV advertising combines strong impact, wide reach and precision targeting to deliver excellent response rates and ROI. What is the Marketing Objective?

UTVsubs are an excellent format for branding and direct response online advertising. They can deliver on objectives of high user response, superior ROI, wide reach (about 55% of UK internet audience), branded online messaging and targeting specific consumers. UTVsubs offer advertisers the opportunity to combine on and offline campaigns and to combine the effectiveness of online direct response with the power of TV branding.

How does it work?

A UTVsubs advert automatically plays in large format (half to full screen depending on the user’s broadband connection) to the internet user after that user has exited from one of the websites on the UtargetTV network. The advert can be an existing TV ad or a video ad designed for the internet, e.g. with interactive elements and specific call-to-actions. On viewing the ad the user is linked to the advertiser’s site or campaign page.

Who's used it in the past?

The UtargetTV network launched in June 2006, as the UK’s first online video advertising network, with a campaign for Ocean Finance. Since then we have successfully delivered campaigns for Channel 5, Redrow Homes, Buena Vista International, Interpoker and United International Pictures, amongst others. Since 2001 Utarget has managed campaigns on its UTsubs and UTcontextual networks for FT.com, O2, Dell, Carphone Warehouse, Alliance & Leicester, BA, AOL and American Express, among others either direct or through major agencies such as Quantum, Carat, Zed and Agency.com
