The system was installed and tested at the end of the 2007-2008 season and the "java-channel" launches at the start of the 2008-2009 season with full marketing support from MDM.TV screens, giant pitch side screens, pitch side perimeter boards, match day programmes and the official club website. The Bluetooth® Channel delivers state of the art content management and media optimization technology developed to enhance user experience.

The system takes a new approach to proximity marketing with the introduction of Everton's own "java-channel", a rich media content management application that delivers club news, player profiles, results, manager comments and entertainment free to the fans via Bluetooth®.
