Sky Media are offering exclusive broadcast sponsorship of the US Open 2009 on Sky Sports this summer

Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Sky Sports welcomes the broadcast of the U.S. Open in New York this summer! Watch the greatest names in tennis at the richest tennis tournament and the last Grand Slam event of the year, the US Open. Roger Federer successfully defended the men's championship in '08, outlasting Andy Murray in the final. And on the women's side, it was Serena Williams victory over Jelena Jankovic for her third US Open title that brought applause and praise raining down on her from over 20,000 spectators in Arthur Ashe Stadium. Sky Sports is offering exclusive broadcast sponship of the US Open

What is the Marketing Objective?

Build awareness amongst a predominanlty male, sports mad audience.

How does it work?

A sponsor will have the opportunity to own one of the highest attended annual events in sports, with action on the main Arthur Ashe Stadium court as well as Louis Armstrong Stadium and all side courts! A sponsor would be featured both visually and verbally in a title sequence lasting up to 15" upon entering and leaving the programme and would be featured on a full frame bumper for 5" entering and leaving the ad break (Approx 6 x 5" per one hour of live tennis coverage). The sponsor will also be featured all promotional trailers specific to the US Open across Sky Sports.

Who's used it in the past?

This is a new opportunity, however previous sponsors of similar events include; Buxton, Betfred, Sure for Men and Ford.
