Year long sponsorship/ownership of 'The Blades', an aero display team who reach live audiences in excess of 5 million.

Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

A dynamic, exciting and unique sponsorship opportunity. The former Red Arrow pilots combine their RAF heritage with being an international acclaimed civilian display team & airline. They are looking for an exclusive partner to come on board and take ownership of The Blades, by branding the planes. If you want to spread your message to 5 million spectators at air shows and 100 million via media (£10 Million ad spend) then this is the solution. This PR generating team can deliver a nationwide multi-platform campaign - compeitions to online promotions, sampling to hospitality.

What is the Marketing Objective?

It would deliver: brand awareness (live and via media), opportunity to sample at airshows, bespoke display to launch product, PR generation, on-pack promotions 'fly with The Blades', corporate hospitality. Their programme of displays can also be influenced by the brand to ensure that the right demographic is being targeted.

How does it work?

With air shows being the 2nd most attended outdoor event after football, it would enable a brand to promote their message to large numbers both in the sky and on the ground (exclusive area/sampling). Combine this with the media they attract via their displays and their bespoke events such as: T4 on the beach, F1 Grand Prix opening & Cowes week and the offering reaches a far larger audience. By being an airline, 'The Blades' can take up passengers which opens up the partnership to corporate days and the ability to run competitions based on flying with them.

Who's used it in the past?

This is a new opportunity, however various companies have branded the planes for one off stunts and launches: RBS, Gillette, the Beckhams (their world cup party) Selex.
