Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

The Trinity Mirror Group runs a number of successful regional and national events each year, reaching millions of readers through extensive media campaigns as well as at the events themselves. Successfully launched in 2014, The Pride of Sport Awards reward the unsung heroes of sport across the UK. Category sponsorship of the 2015 Pride of Sport Awards is currently available to brands. The event itself will once again be hosted by a high profile personality with a wide selection of sport stars, past and present, there to present the awards to the deserving shortlist.

What is the Marketing Objective?

An audience of over 400 attendees consisting of sponsors, winners, celebrities and the media will enjoy a celebration of Grassroots Sports at The Grosvenor House Hotel. London. Being a category sponsor enables the sponsor to have a high profile across the event and during the event campaign, engaging with the Trinity Mirror audience and the opportunity to raise awareness about any brand or campaign message currently being promoted by the sponsor.

How does it work?

The award categories will recognise different areas and levels of the sporting world and are designed to encourage communities, friends and families to get involved and either nominate or vote for their preferred winner. Category sponsorship will include Daily Mirror Editorial & Advertising Campaign, naming rights of a category, benefits at the event (including table for 10 guests, branding across relevant site and opportunity to present an award), sponsor profile within the event programme, sponsor profile on event website and across social media and additional PR.

Who's used it in the past?

The Mirror & Sport England 2014 Pride of Sport Awards attracted a number of high profile sponsors across a number of different sectors & included: Sports England, JD Sports, Fitness First, Checkatrade and OneStop.
