Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Closers launch created a whole new market within the womens weekly sector. The world has moved on from Mothers simply staying at home with their kids and our magazine reflects their passions and interest. Closer strives to explore and explain the challenges of motherhood in the 21st Century and reporting on the ways in which different people have different methods of over-coming them. 21st Century Mums brings us closer to their world, and allows ordinary people leading extraordinary lives, to make their stories known in their favourite magazine.

What is the Marketing Objective?

Gain close access to Closers audience with an integrated creative idea - close connection with Closers audience. Huge brand awareness - great talkabiliy outside of our medium through PRing stories that could be taken via Newspapers or TV (we have excellent links with GMTV). It is the ideal opportunity to communicate core values, appeal and connect with young adults and really stand out from your competitors.

How does it work?

Phase 1 (The launch) We recruit readers to send in their stories/nominations as to why their mother, friend, sister is an inspirational model of how being a mother has changed in the 21st Century. Phase 2 (The reminder) Sponsored DPS advertorial showcasing the sponsors proposition and explaining their link to the property. Phase 3 (The pay off) An editorial showcase of the winners, all telling their stories with explanations of why they have been nominated and by whom, and the chance over a sponsored editorial piece to tell their stories to the nation.
