Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?
Headline Sponsor of the shipping hub gets a banner and footer on the shipping hub homepage. eBay is setting up the hub to offer sellers more Value, Selection and Trust by offering a one-stop-shop for their most important business needs. The hub should assist existing small and medium sized companies in increasing the size and efficiency of their businesses. Sponsors will receive co-branding on 75 million display advertising impressions a month promoting the hub, plus a dedicated brand space on ebay for advertorials/competitions/promotions.
How does it work?
Users see display advertising promoting the Shipping Hub. This advertising will display the sponsor logo. The user clicks on the ads to go to a central page hosted on eBay where a variety of shipping options are displayed, allowing the user to select a relevant service. There will be a banner for the sponsor at the top and bottom of the page. Users clicking on either of these banners will be directed to a multipage advertorial highlighting the sponsors goods and or services.

Shipping is the major variable for sellers on eBay and one of the largest business costs. Shipping companies have long enjoyed high response rates on eBay because of the relevance of their services to certain sections of the eBay audience. We anticipate that over the course of six months, most conscientious sellers on eBay will visit the hub to see if they can imporve their service and profitability. This will deliver a receptive and engaged audience of businesspeople - probably interested in a wide range of services in addition to just shipping.
