Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Clunes plays surgeon Doctor Martin Ellingham whose glittering career comes crashing down around him when he develops a phobia which prevents him conducting operations. He decides to retrain as a GP, and applies for a vacant post in the sleepy Cornish hamlet of Portwenn. Despite his surgical brilliance, he has no personal skills; the community is united in horror at their foul new GP. But Doc Martin (as they call him) soon finds he needs all the allies he can get as he tries to negotiate his way around village life with hilarious consequences.
