Having achieved impressive audiences of 9 million, The Royal is now back in 2007. The series starts with Dr Jeff Goodwin abroad putting his medical skills to work in the Biafran war. We meet the Beattie’s who are a struggling working class family. Lady Isabella is admitted to The Royal after a horse riding accident and her chauffeur Tom causes trouble between Stella and Lizzie as they both fall for him.
