Documentary series resulting in production of six new pieces of art and a Channel 4 prime time television series.
The Big Art project is a Channel 4 documentary series that will result in the production of six innovative new pieces of art, created by leading artists in different locations around the country. This is one of Channel 4's highest priority projects in PR and media relation terms and will shape the most significant exhibition of art ever in the UK.
We are looking for a partner for this project to sponsor the on and of air aspects as a package. It is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate commitment to corporate and social responsibility whilst at the same time getting involved in a widely publicised and promoted television event.
To get involved, members of the public have to proposed a location that could inspire a leading artist to create a big new work of public art. Six sites will then be chosen by a panel of judges. They will select sites which offer the best opportunity to create an excellent work of art. These will be sites with community support and the most chance of being completed by autumn 2007.
This is a totally new project and therefore a "Media First".
The Big Art project is already being promoted accross C4, E4 and More4 to prompt the public to get involved.
5 x 1 hour programmes will chart the progres of the projects over the two year period.
1 x 2 hour live event shows will unveil the final winning works and entrants.
