Opportunity to sponsor England TV from October to December 2008. Rugby League is a sport like no other. It is a sport on the rise - attendances are up, viewing figures are up and participation is growing every year. As the sponsor of the England TV service you can enjoy an increased profile in a period incorporating the most prestigious event in the International Rugby League Calendar, the Rugby League World Cup, held in Australia between October and November '08. The final will be played in Brisbane on November 22nd 2008.

What is the Marketing Objective?

Speed, skill, physicality and fair play - we are a family sport which is accessible to all. You have the opportunity to align yourselves with the worlds greatest, family friendly, elite sport. You have the opportunity to build brand awareness and drive sales via sponsorship of England TV service with ability to drive traffic to a nominated website. Sponsorship package includes a bespoke entry sting to all video clips, on-screen logo throughout the duration of all clips and a closing sting featuring logo and website address.

How does it work?

England TV is an official service offering free to view video content on the Super League, RFL and EnglandRL websites (plus syndicated national media sites) and will provide unrivalled access to the England team during the Rugby League World Cup. In addition to match highlights, the RFL will shadow the team and capture exclusive behind the scenes footage, training, press conferences, player blogs and news. The footage is filmed in high definition, edited and uploaded to the websites remotely. We estimate that 5 clips per week will be produced across the World Cup period

Who's used it in the past?

Gillette, who sponsor the England Rugby League Team utilised this service previously in the Gillette Tri Nations competition held in Australia in 2005 and again in the recent Fusion Test Series held in the UK in 2007. The clips allowed Gillette to raise the profile of their Fusion product and tied in with on-pack promotions. During the Fusion Test Series our syndicated video content featured as the top 3 downloaded videos on the Sun website. The Sun have again agreed to carry the content on their website and have recently built a new portal to feature the footage.

Over 500,000 people would be exposed to your brand by the content in association with one of the UK's leading international sports brands in the highest profile Rugby League tournament. A full demographic profile of rugby league supporters is available upon request. The base coverage of 500,000 visitors is impressive but this excludes the syndication across The Sun, The Telegraph, The Times, The Guardian, The Daily Mirror and The Yorkshire Post and will give unrivalled visibility for the fee.
