The ACS Sponsor Funded Tethered Blimp has been a regular feature of the England Summer Test Series for many years providing stunning aerial images of the cricket grounds and the surrounding landscapes. The Blimp is fully funded by sponsorship with the aerial imagery supplied free of charge to the broadcaster in return for guaranteed hourly on-air visual and commentator verbal references to the sponsor branded blimp. The 20m long and 10m high Tethered Blimp is operated within close proximity to the stadium so the sponsor will also recieve extensive ambient exposure.

What is the Marketing Objective?

By providing these aerial images to the broadcaster which significantly enhances the viewing experience of the coverage of the test series, a sponsor can recieve in return, a strong association with the event with in-match broadcast brand and ambient brand exposure to a captive, high media value audience. The sponsorship of the Tethered Blimp is exclusive at each test match (as opposed to bill board advertising for instance) providing a unique and unusual branding/corporate platform opportunity which stands out clearly from traditional onscreen and venue advertising mediums

How does it work?

The ACS Tethered Blimp, successfully operated around the world since the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, is a unique sponsor funded filming platform providing stunning aerial coverage of live broadcast events. The 20m Tethered Blimp comes fitted with a state of the art, HD broadcast stabilised Cineflex camera mount, is silent in operation and is capable of flying up to an altitude of 1000 ft (300m) with long flying endurance. The Blimp can be branded by an event or associate sponsor offering un-paralleled exposure opportunities both to the live and captive broadcast audience.
