Sky Media and NBC Universal offer an advertiser the exclusive opportunity to sponsor Legend of the Seeker on SCI FI this summer.

Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Legend of the Seeker is a cross between Lord of the Rings and Xena: Warrior Princess. Lead character Richard Cypher was once but a simple woodsman. Life was an uneventful series of tasks and duties for Richard, until fate brought him together with a mysterious and captivating female, Kahlan Amnell. The truth is soon revealed to Richard; he is a child of prophecy, the first true Seeker the world has known in a thousand years, destined to wield the powerful Sword of Truth and defeat the evil tyrant Darken Rahl.

What is the Marketing Objective?

Build brand awareness amongst our audience; characterised by early adopters, technology lovers and passive pioneers. 39% are aged 16-34 and 43% of SCI FI viewers are ABC1 and the profile is 50:50 Men and Women.

How does it work?

Sky Media and NBC Universal are pleased to offer an advertiser the exclusive opportunity to sponsor 'Legend of the Seeker' on SCI FI, from August 2009. All programming could be branded as 'Product X - Sponsors Legend of the Seeker on SCI FI' within the credits to add cohesion to the package.

Who's used it in the past?

The sponsor will receive; Opening and Closing Credits: 2 x 15 Seconds and Break Bumpers: 2 x 5 Seconds. There are approximately 3 centre breaks per 1 hour programme. The series begins Thursday 13th August at 20:00 (running for 22 x 1 Hour episodes). SCI FI will also air a 1/2 hour 'Making-Of' Documentary and a 'Catch Up' Weekend over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Features / Benefits

This opportunity offers sponsors a total of approximately 86 hours of programming and 688 sponsorship credits. There is the opportunity for the advertiser to sponsor the fantasy month, also incorporating the Legend of the Seeker series. The Fantasy Month will feature a number of film titles aired Weeknights at 18:00 and also across the weekends, including: The Mummy Returns, Dragon Hunter, Hercules, and Dungeons & Dragons.
