Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

There are few music opportunities that can compete with the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs). Legendary performances e.g U2 and JayZ performing on The Brandenburg gate, Queen reforming with Bruno Mars singing, Miley Cyrus twerking on Robin Thicke. The opportunity to reach consumers in high numbers across all platforms via one broadcaster (TV, online, social, OTG). Plus, in MTV Music Week a week of exclusive music events preceding the Awards (see separate opportunity). In 2017, for the first time in 20 years, the EMAs will be in London!

What is the Marketing Objective?

EMA dominates MTV from September, with fans voting in their millions for the artists who have defined their year. The Award Show will be held at the SSE Arena Wembley on November 12th. It will broadcast across MTV's network and Channel 5, with an array of supporting programming from red carpet build-up to backstage digital exclusives. The events provide a great opportunity for your brand to create relevant content which can be seeded out across multiple platforms both during and post the event as well as a strong association with the MTV brand.

How does it work?

There will be three Sponsors (two International and one UK sponsor). This package details the UK Sponsorship. HFSS and Alcohol Brands cannot sponsor due to Ofcom regs, but they can be a partner. Sponsorship Deliverables: 100 A1634 30" TVRs - 22% A1634 Reach - Licensing Opportunity - Event Branding - £80K Digital and Social - VIP Tickets. On-air sponsorship - delivering 55 x 30" equiv AD1634 TVRs. Cross-platform promotion - TV delivering 45 x 30" equiv AD1634 TVRs & digital and social media activation valued at £80,000 net.
