Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

In 2008, The Loaded Laftas Awards was attended by the great, the good and the gorgeous. The Loaded Lafta awards campaign ran for 6 months from June to December. It was the only comedy awards to be voted for by the general public and was voted for by Loaded's readers. Nivea for Men, the sponsors, had in-mag, online & mobile promotional campaign and had an after the event 61% recall of the sponsors association. This year, IPC are offering one lucky brand the rights to sponsor the 2009 Lafta awards.

What is the Marketing Objective?

Build awareness and give brand attitude amongst a young and influential male audience.

How does it work?

The Laftas 2009 with XXXX company. Offering; Bigger than ever event, 7 issues featuring LAFTAs editorial, 4 advertorial pages for the sponsor, Bigger house ad campaign, Big online comedy hub on Loaded.co.uk - jokes, newsletters,random joke generator, sponsors micro-channel. Also 2009 will host the first ever pre-LAFTAS comedy tour - 6 date UK comedy venues nationally, up & coming comedians. All co-branded with xxxx logo. 2009 will have the biggest guest list ever.

Who's used it in the past?

The 2008 Loaded Laftas were sponsored by Nivea for Men.

Features / Benefits

The 2009 Laftas will use a bigger venue than 08. The sponsor gets two tables of 10 to invite comp' winners, customers & clients. There will be goody bag giveaway to attendees. Sponsors will have in venue branding opportunities and we are currently also looking into TV opportunities. The 2009 Laftas will be filmed and put online as digital programme.
