New entertainment channel Watch offers broadcast sponsorship of it's Saturday Night Hero's Strand, targeting a family audience.

Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Watch is the new entertainment channel from UKTV which showcases great family dramas such as Dr Who and Torchwood, blockbuster movies and US shows including Dancing with the Stars and Total Wipeout USA alongside Traffic Cops and Animal Park. Detailed qualitative audience research has identified that Watch viewers love coming together as a family to share their viewing experience, an insight that has informed the new end line for Watch: "See it. Love it. Share it."

Build awareness and drive sales amongst a family orientated audience.

How does it work?

Watch will create an integrated channel partnership opportunity by creating a Saturday night event - "Saturday Night Heroes". The bespoke strand will be specially developed for a sponsor who will receive sponsor references through traditional sponsorship credits (8 x 10" per hour) around all the programming as well as branding and logo on additional channel architecture - i.e. blips, promos, idents & menu boards on Saturday nights. Programming includes; Wipeout USA, Robin Hood, Dr Who, Torchwood and various family films.

Who's used it in the past?

This is a new opportunity, but Watch/IDS are looking forward to working with a new brand partner to bring the Saturday Night Hero's strand alive!

Features / Benefits

In addition we propose running a series of quarterly stunts across the course of the sponsorship. For example: Themed programme led stunts eg .Vote for favourite 'hero' with winner being broadcast as a back to back stack. These stunts can be developed with channel, agency & client working closely together. Other opportunities could also include; 'Watch & win' competitions (could be text based on online based), Online support and Opportunity for on pack / in store leverage.
