Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

Sky Movies Indie is a 24 hour movie channel showcasing the best in independent cinema, documentaries and foreign language films. Example titles include: Babel, Little Miss Sunshine, The Curse of The Golden Flower, Volver and Stranger than Fiction. The opportunity exists for a sponsor to take peak-time or full ownership of Sky Movies Indie across all platforms. This translates to owning 10 movies per day from Monday to Sunday - a total of 70 movies per week and a whopping 3,640 movies per year!

What is the Marketing Objective?

Primarily to build awareness of your product or service but inevitably to drive penetration for the timings of the sponsorship in order to get more people to buy your products and services.

How does it work?

ACCREDITATION PER MOVIE. Opening & closing credits: 15 seconds audio/visual to all films. - Or: Opening credit: 20 seconds audio/visual to all films; closing credit: 10 seconds audio/visual to all films. PROMOS: Throughout the year, Sky Movies promote tent-pole seasons across the various genres. Where possible the sponsor will get a 5" credits prior to the movie or season specific trailer. A sponsor will only get branding on promos 20" or above. - Different timings to suit: 12 or 6 months channel sponsorship or 12 or 6 months peak channel sponsorship.

Choice is a great thing, as long as it improves the customer experience, that's why Sky Movies was re-launched in April 2007 as a genre based service, making it easier then ever for viewers to find the films they want to watch. With access to over 850 films shown on our linear channels each month, Sky Movies really is the home of an unrivalled range of quality content. - Companies who have used this opportunity in the past include: Nike, Barclaycard and Coke Zero

It's why we PIN protect 12 and 15 films pre-watershed. It's why we show all content, where available in Dolby 5.1. And it's why we were the UK's first broadcaster to launch three dedicated HD film channels, with 6 more planned to roll out by the end of October.
