Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

An on-air & on-line promotional activity to warm up those cold days. When it's cold outside we are always looking for things to do, whether it's shopping, eating out, watching TV or surfing the net. The cold snap is an ideal time to target potential customers when they're at a loose end. The big promotion will be a themed competition on-air + additional activity on-line, pre-promotional spots will actively encourage listeners to tune in all day for the chance to win a fantastic winter break thanks to your brand.

How does it work?

On-air - Pre-promotional live reads will run two days before the actual promotional day, highlighting the fact your brand has teamed up with Virgin Radio & talking about the fab winter themed prizes up for grabs. On the day, listeners will call in to win when they hear a themed trigger track e.g Baby it's Cold Outside by Tom Jones. The 1st caller taken to air will win a fantastic winter break thanks to your brand. On-line - Activity to include fully branded splashpage,logo's & images,links,extra online competition. Also a newsletter to go out to 230,000+ VIP's when live.

The joy of the thermal package is having an agreed competition mechanic and presenter read in place; ready to go live whenever the temperature starts to drop. Virgin Radio will monitor the UK's weather and as soon as a day is predicted to be on average 5 degrees or less we will ask you whether you would like to activate the thermal promotion. This will give your message great targeting and relevance.
