Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?
The Big Top 40 Show is the only UK chart to truly represent the current musical tastes of the nation. Based entirely on iTunes downloads and featuring a live top 10, its the UK's biggest chart and biggest single show on commercial radio. Broadcasts Sundays 4-7pm across 145 radio stations including Capital, Heart, Galaxy, Big City network and Real Radio. On air trails run across the week promoting the show giving week-long presence. The show is now 60% female and has an average age of 37. Average listening to the show is 1hr 20mins - almost half the show!
How does it work?
Big Top 40's strong connection with its audience is through music. An appointment to listen show and people stay tuned for an average of half the show. Its fast paced, music based and up-to-the-minute as downloads can change the chart in real time. Listeners connect with our up-and-coming presenters Rich Clarke and Kat Shoob. Online, Bigtop40.com hosts an artist database, music news and competitions. Each month we attract an average of 1.6 million page impressions and 440,000 unique users. 12months reaches 83% (9.8m) main shoppers with kids and 84% (13.3m) adults 16-34.
Who's used it in the past?
The Big Top 40 Show launched in June 2009 and is available for sponsorship. The radio chart show which ran on many of these stations prior the Big Top 40 launch, had previous sponsors including Pepsi ("The Pepsi Chart"), and Woolworths ("hit40uk with Woolworths")
