CASE STUDY: Faber & Faber

Provided by StreetPR UK
Faber and Faber tasked StreetPR to do something different for their next book launch.

What was the Challenge / Background of the Campaign?

Having not used a promotional team before, Faber and Faber tasked StreetPR to do something different for their next book launch. They had a great idea in mind and needed to bring their idea to life!

What was the Campaign Objective?

The aim was to generate awareness of the novel, and generate a social media response to the street-level promotion, ultimately leading to increased book sales.

What was the Solution?

Our first campaign saw promotional staff in over 25 spots around London in one day, giving out free samplers (1st chapter) of the fantastic thriller novel. One location also had a coffee van - giving full-sized hardcover copy and a luxury coffee for the first 100 people to tweet. We also had dozens of staff on the underground, bus stops, park benches and coffee shops, reading the books in a very obvious manner, holding the book up so people could see the book cover instead of their face, with T-shirts and branding.

What were the Results?

Over 150 staff where involved in the campaign and the author and client were very happy. StreetPR has since managed two other projects with Faber, and continue to work with them as we look for new and exciting ways to launch books. What Faber and Faber say about StreetPR: "Thanks to you and your colleagues for making yesterday go so smoothly. We were all delighted."
