Created by the merging of the Capital Gold & Classic Gold radio networks in 2007, Gold distinguishes itself from the competition by playing the greatest hits of all time with particular dedication to the most influential music decades: the 60s, 70s and 80s. The music Gold plays is as relevant today as it has ever been; it continues to influence new bands on the scene today. Keeping listeners hunger alive for music knowledge they are taken back to the roots of music through exclusive interviews with iconic artists and the knowledge of our presenters.

How does it work?

The Gold Network broadcasts in 25 local areas (24 Analogue / 19 Digital Radio licenses) with over 1.5 million listeners per week across the country, Gold is committed to providing a comprehensive local news, weather, travel and sport service as well as local programming to keeps listeners informed and entertained. In 2010 we released our very own range of Gold Classic Hits CDs exclusively with HMV including Motown Greats, 60's Summer Sounds and Drivetime. We've now added two brand new double CD's to the range! 'Rock 'N' Roll' and 'Party'.
