Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

The AdMaxim platform allows advertisers to serve creative dependent on the current weather condition. AdMaxim were first to market with this opportunity in 2013. We have a wealth of experience running weather targeted campaigns and a proven track record of success. The concept is simple, creative will be served dynamically when a certain weather condition is met. For example, a retailer may wish to promote their BBQ range over a bank holiday weekend. The creative will only be served when the conditions are sunny and over 18 degrees, increasing relevancy.

Suitable for advertisers that want to tap in to the weather conditions for strategic reasons. Can be used effectively in a variety of sectors including Retail, QSR's, Online order services, Travel, Food & Drink.

How does it work?

The AdMaxim platform takes it's information from 3 sources - Accuweather, The Weather Channel and the Met Office. Using RSS or API feeds, the platform updates every 30'', ensuring that the very latest data is used. Ads are served based on the weather conditions at the location of each individual device, e.g ads may be served in London when it is sunny but not in Manchester, where it may be raining.

Examples of advertisers that have used weather targeting for various purposes are: - Domino's, Homebase, Bulmers, Phillipines Airlines, Car Glass, Stat Oil and Vodafone.
